UGC NET NOTIFICATION:
Eligibility for UGC NET
Candidates with 55 % marks in master degree or Equivalent. The minimum marks required for SC/ST and PWD (Persons with disability) is 50%.
The candidates are advised to apply in their subject of post-graduation or related subject if their subject is not covered.
Age Limit for NET JRF:
For JRF the age should not be more than 28 years as on 01.12.2012 with relaxation as per rules. There is no upper age limit for lecturership.
UGC NET examination fee:
The exam fee for UGC NET is Rs. 450 for general, Rs. 220 for OBC and Rs. 110 for SC/ST/PWD.

NET EXAM PATTERN:
UGC Net June is an Objective test
1. | The UGC-NET will be conducted in objective mode from June 2012 onwards. The Test will consist of three papers. All the three papers will consist of only objective type questions and will be held on the day of Examination in two separate sessions as under: | |||||||||||||||||||||||||

Only such candidates who obtain the minimum required marks in each Paper, separately, as mentioned above, will be considered for final preparation of result. However, the final qualifying criteria for Junior Research Fellowship (JRF) and eligibility for Lectureship shall be decided by UGC before declaration of result. For SET Candidates: The candidates who have cleared the State Eligibility Test (SET) accredited by UGC for eligibility for Lectureship held prior to 1st June 2003, are exempted from appearing in NET, being eligible to apply for Lectureship anywhere in India. For SET held from 1st June 2003 onwards, the qualified candidates are eligible to apply for the post of lecturer only in the universities/ colleges belonging to the state from where they have cleared their SET. All SET qualified candidates are also eligible to appear in NET, if they so desire.
